| - Mission Taken – Guard Duty:
Mission name: Guard Duty (Repeatable) Mission rank: C Rank Objective: Guard the Gates. Location: Kirigakure Reward: 400 Ryo + Word Count | Minimum: 250 Words Mission description: You've been picked for guard duty. It's your job to be the inner patrol of the north section of Sunagakure's gates from nightfall till sunrise. Mission details: You've been tasked to help with the guard duty. You're not alone, even though your partners are hidden well. Your job is to just continue to watch the gates, and ensure that nothing gets in. It's a rather pleasant night, though about halfway through a wild, rabid fox will enter in that you have to deal with; if you let it slip past you it will go on to attack the villagers.
Feet hit the ground in a hurry as she jumped from the step of her doorway to the road outside; dust rising up around her for a moment. A giggle escaped her before she raced off towards the area she had been assigned to: guard duty, something that would make normal people groan made this little Chuunin extremely excited. Golden hair flew behind her as she ran, racing through the streets, past merchant carts, people, and animals alike. She reached the north section of the village and took up her post, still grinning from ear to ear. Frost kept his distance, allowing her to work freely and do what she felt was needed, but remained close enough to where he could instantly reach her if something were to happen. Nalla glanced around, keeping an eye on things, and taking notice of the other shinobi stationed nearby. She was glad to finally have this opportunity to prove herself: something harder than just rescuing cats, repairing things, cleaning windows, or babysitting. This was serious, and she felt she was more than ready to handle it. As the time ticked past and daylight turned to night she kept her nerve about her and kept watch: taking this far more seriously than any other child likely would have. Using the moons position to tell the time she took notice that her shift was almost over, and just as she was about to say something to Frost something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. Of course, Frost had already noticed, and would have likely handled the issue had she not, but again he was giving her a chance to work this as alone as possible. What was it she had noticed? A small fox, normally not a problem, except given the fact she was part Inuzuka she was more than wise to the way animals were supposed to act, and this fox was not acting right. The signs pointed to it being ill, the foam around its mouth and its violent nature as it snapped at even the slightest of sounds told Nalla that it was rabid. There was no fixing that... While taking a life, either human or animal, was not something she was looking forward to do she knew that there was no help that could be offered the fox: it either had to be put down or it was likely going to cause a problem later on - especially if it got in the village and around the unarmed villagers. She removed a kunai from her hip pouch as it neared, unaware of her current position. She glanced to Frost, who was looking at her and still willing to allow her to handle it, before focusing back on the fox: with a flick of her wrist she went the kunai flying where it hit the fox right in the heart, instantly killing it. She waited a moment to see that the fox was really dead before she walked over and removed her weapon from the fox: no point in wasting it after all. After a moment she picked up the fox by its leg and tossed it into the bushes, knowing that some much larger predator would likely come along and eat it before it rotted. She returned to her post and wiped the weapon clean of blood before putting it back into her pouch with a frown. The frown remained on her face as she focused her attention back onto her job, and remained there up until her shift ended and it was time to report in... Word Count: 600 / 250 | |
