The desert was a harsh environment but it did little to stop Demitria in her task of finding her father and younger sister. While she didn’t move as fast as she could – she wanted to make sure Konran could keep up with her after all – she did still move. The desert passed by quickly beneath her feet as the sun beat down overhead like some kind of bright and hot monster that couldn’t be slayed save for by the moon that thankfully finished making its appearance not long after their travel had begun. Traveling in the dark was easier, and far cooler.
The particular direction which Demi was heading was toward water – the closer she got the larger the smell of ocean salt water reached her nose. She paused only for herself and Konran to take a breather, grab some water, or even eat since she had bought and paid for the bag of food she had left Yokuchigakure with.
Eventually though, with nearly constant movement beneath their feet, the desert gave way for a more solid landscape which eventually turned quite wet. The humidity of the air took over where the dry heat of the desert had left off, enveloping them. To Demi it reminded her of a steamy shower, one that didn’t seem to stop. Yet, it was far cooler – still warm – than Yokuchi and the break from the vicious heat was welcomed.
Eventually, as the gates of Kirigakure came into view Demi slowed to a walk, a grin spreading across her face.
”Kirigakure…. This should be interesting.”, she muttered beneath her breath as she walked through the gates. Maybe they’d find her father and younger sister here?
