In a new Land (Open)

The boat docked. Boat hands tie ropes around the docks, anchoring the boat. The walkway is set up from the boat to the dick, and people begin getting off. Boat hands help some people with their luggage. Some people are waiting on the docks and greet some of the passengers.

Among these passengers is a strange individual with his face hidden by a large circular straw hat. He wore a dark colored cloak over his clothes. What could be seen were large black boots and something long at the small of his back that resembled a sword.

It had been 2 weeks since Jubei Neko decided to set out from Sabakugakure and continue wandering the world. Deciding he wanted all new scenery, he took a boat ride to another continent. The village before him was called Hanagakure. He appeared to currently be in the lower district, but ahead he could see other nicer areas. The village appeared to be very large, and easy to get lost in.

As Jubei left the dock area and began walking deeper into the village, he could hear people talking. Apparently a strange boy with a gas mask and a pretty red headed girl wielding a large fan were making waves recently. The 2 of them had saved many people from a couple of psychopaths. What caught Jubei's ear especially was how the boy "shot light from his hands and destroyed his foe."

Jubei had put on a little muscle and learned some tricks from Holeman before he left, and developed some new moves of his own. Although he wandered to look for other members of his fallen clan, occasionally he would want to test himself against strong opponents. Perhaps he would run into this boy somewhere in Hana and see what he could do...

Miyuki was standing in line outside of her favorite tea shop, waiting to get her hands on some more delicious vanilla chai tea (she had already ordered and paid, and was simply waiting for her order to come up), when a strange conversation reached her ears that had her frowning in thought. ”Did you hear the Commander General took out another one of those things?”

”I thought two kids did it?”

”Oh they did! But then another one of those things showed up and started causing havoc. I heard a rumor that the Commander General blew him up!”

”How’d she manage to do that?!”

”Not really sure… I think she knows how to use jutsu, maybe that’s how?”

”Well, remind me never to get on her bad side, eh?”

”Right… Hm. Isn’t that red head girl one of the two who took out that flying creep and his masked friend?”

”I think you’re right. You think maybe she’ll give me her autograph---” Miyuki turned pink and quickly tuned out the rest of what the guy was saying. She had no problem being seen as a ‘hero’ but that didn’t mean she wanted to be handing out autographs or having her picture taken or anything like that. Thankfully she was saved from being bothered by the sudden arrival of a large cup of iced vanilla chai tea with a tad bit of extra sugar thrown in. She took her cup graciously with a muttered ”Thank you!” and then headed off before either of the two gentlemen could manage to try and catch her attention.

Thankfully, since they were still waiting for their order, they didn’t follow and Miyuki managed to make it up the street without being bothered. She relaxed once she was a few yards away and paused to take a sip of her tea while glancing backwards wearily while wondering where Suna had gone off to and if any other maniacs with a lust for blood were going to end up showing up around town. One thing was for certain: if what she was hearing about the Commander was true then she likely had access to Explosion Release which would make her one very dangerous individual: Miyuki was glad they were on her side, and not against her.

Tired.

Suna had been dragging himself around the village. He didn't want to stay in the suite is Miyuki wasn't there, though he was used to being by himself. He was hoping for more of that head in her lap action, but he was starting to think she just wasn't into him like that. It was sort of depressing.

Rumors went around that Boss Uno came down here recently and got into a fight of her own with a freak similar to those 2 last night. They were saying she blew the guy up with her bare hands. That sounded like something he'd never seen before, an all new release. Suna had to dodge villagers and groupies that recognized him from last night when he performed his ultimate jutsu. He wasn't hard to miss after all, with how he looked.

Suna ran away from a crowd of people wanting his autograph. He looked comical with how he ran, ducked down with his sleeves flapping around behind him. "...How the hell are old ladies this fast?" he mumbled, his little legs working quickly at putting distance between himself and the crowd of middle aged woman with pen and papers in their hands. Suna thought about flying, but that would take too much effort. "Maybe I shoulda just stayed in the house today!"

Suna began to zig-zag through the streets in an effort to shake his pursuers...

He attracted a few stares, but it wasn't anything he wasn't used to. A newcomer to this village. Stories were still reaching his ears. A woman, "Commander Uno" is what he heard her name was, got into a battle with someone and destroyed them with her bare hands. So it seemed that this village was quite lively. Jubei was becoming quite excited.

As he walked along, making his way out of the lower districts and into one of the higher ones, he came upon a scene where someone was being chased by a crowd of people.  A closer look revealed that this person was a boy. He had red hair and a top that looked far too big for him. He also wore a gas mask. Was this the person he'd heard the rumors about?

Jubei began running as well. He took to the rooftops so that he could keep a better eye on the kid. If this was him, then he wanted to ask him several questions. Jubei could feel through his sensory that even for a little kid, he was quite powerful, perhaps even moreso than he was. Even still, Jubei kept track of this chase, following as closely as he could...

The first few sips of tea were rather delicious and it made Miyuki rather happy she had decided to get another glass despite what had happened the last time. To make matters even better this time around she wasn’t being followed by creeps who wanted to see her ‘skills’ or whatever those two had been up to before she had sent them on their way. Another sip or two into her tea however she began to notice that something was wrong: she could hear noise a street or so over that sounded out of the ordinary.

Fearing the worst Miyuki levitated herself up into the air and over top of the houses and buildings that blocked one street from the next – keeping her tea in hand in case whatever was going on wasn’t an emergency like she feared it might be. Sure enough when she saw what was going on it wasn’t in fact another attack on the civilians of the village. No, instead it was something even stranger; Suna being chased by some females.

Miyuki kept pace with the crowd, wondering what was going on and what had happened to cause Suna to be chased by so many. It didn’t escape her notice as she moved that she was not the only one utilizing the roof tops to keep pace: there was an individual whom she had never seen before – who was dressed differently then those in Hana which marked him an outsider – who was also following after Suna and the gang of women.

”Suna… what’d you do to get yourself chased by so many females?” Miyuki would ask telepathically, assuming her voice wouldn’t carry over the din of the crowd below.

"I donno! I came out here to try shaking off the tired lag feeling from last night and it turned into a stampede!" Suna answered back.

Miyuki was hovering nearby. it was around this time that he noticed and felt someone else. He was running on the rooftops, wearing something that looked like an umbrella on his head. He looked like he was following along behind. Who was this guy? Was he another freak? A friend of the bandits?

Huhhhhh, so tiring... Suna jumped and took to the rooftops himself. He positioned himself so that he was in the path of this guy, sliding to a stop and spinning to face him. Better to face this head on instead of beating around the bush. The gourd began to glow brighter in anticipation of impending violence.

"Hey... umbrella head," said Suna. "I'm not really in the mood to be giving out any autographs, you followin me? Or could it be that you're another one of these freaks that've been crawling out of whatever hole you all come from? Maybe you're related to those bandits we mangled the other day out in the wilds. Which is it, eh?"

Hmm, developments. There was someone else nearby, a female. She seemed to be... floating through the air. What strange sort of jutsu was this?...

The kid with the mask jumped up into his path and spun to face him, causing Jubei to slide to a stop. After calling him an "Umbrella Head" he asked several questions: whether or not he was following him, if he were one of the "freaks" that seemed to be causing trouble, or related to some bandits that he must have encountered sometime before.

"...None of the above," was Jubei's answer. "...I'm a visitor here from a far away land. I arrived here not long ago. Stories are floating around among the villagers of a red headed boy with a gourd and a gas mask..." he looked upward somewhat, even though his head was mostly covered. "... and a female, also with red hair, engaging in a battle with strong opponents... are you and the girl there the ones they speak of?"

Jubei didn't want a serious battle here, only a spar. He hadn't planned on fighting them both but if he had to he was prepared. this would be his first time taking on formidable foes other than thugs and goons with no fighting skills.

Suna answered back and said he didn’t know why they were following him: he had stepped outside to shake off the tired feeling and then this had happened. As Miyuki got a better look at the females below they began to remind her of groupies: like what rockstars and singers ended up being chased around by. Was this all over what had happened with those two maniacs her and Suna had killed? It definitely seemed like Suna was getting it worse than her – but then again Miyuki had taken off after those two guys back at the tea shop had started talking about asking her for her autograph. Maybe she too would have ended up being chased around by people. The thought made her frown.

Suna seemed to take notice of shinobi-like individual following him at that point and jumped up on the roof top to confront him. Miyuki meanwhile focused her attention on the crowd while picking up a bit on the vibe going on between Suna and the unknown person.

Not wanting to risk anyone getting accidentally getting hurt should a fight break out Miyuki levitated herself down below, floating several inches above the females that were there. ”Alright ladies! Go on. Give him some room. You’ve chased him enough for one day. Go on back to your knitting or whatever you were doing…!” She hoped they listened and left or else she was likely going to have to try and find another way to convince them to move on elsewhere. Chances were though they weren’t going to leave so easily: maybe she would be wrong though. She hoped so.

The stranger said he was none of that. He said he was a visitor from somewhere far away and had just got here recently. The story about what happened last night was floating around, and he wanted to know if it was him and Miyuki that they were talking about. In the meantime Miyuki attempted to disperse the crowd of groupies down below.

There was something up with this guy. Suna could have easily found out, but at the moment he was still pretty tired, and he'd never been one to abuse his abilities like that. Suna couldn't get a good look at him, but at first glance it looked like he had a sword. There were probably other weapons hidden beneath that cape. Suna didn't know exactly how strong he was, but his sensory was telling him he was strong.

"Yeah, that was us," Suna answered. "What about it? If you say you're not involved with any of the weirdos we've dealt with so far, what's it to you?"

Jubei took his cloak off and tossed it to the side. He was wearing a sleeveless black top and baggy pants. He had pale colored skin with several visible tattoos. There were gloves on either hand that both looked a little too big for him. What looked like a brown fur belt was around his waist.

"...Well, like I said, i'm new here," he said. "...And after hearing the stories I wanted to try myself against a strong opponent. Where I come from was quite peaceful, so it's refreshing for a change to enter a place with conflict. From what I hear, even the person who runs this place gets her hands dirty." Jubei sand into a fighting stance. "...So, how about it, yes?"

Jubei didn't even give him a chance to respond. He dashed forward, leaving his sword in the sheathe for now, deciding to start out light with Taijutsu. Jubei closed the distance between them and jumped, turning his body to the left and sending a kick towards the kid's mid-section. Were he caught off guard, likely a rib would be broken, but Jubei expected him to block it.

Opening Stone Rose:

The crowd of females were hesitant at first, if not seeming to be downright angry with the idea of Miyuki shooing them away. A few grumbled comments met her ears that had her rolling her eyes with a sigh: the comments were ranging anywhere from Miyuki just being jealous she didn’t have a group of fans following her around to people wondering out loud if she was Suna’s girlfriend. She wanted them to go away for their own good, but she highly doubted no matter what she said that they’d see it the same way as her.

Sure enough, just as she thought, a fight broke out between Suna and the new arrival – or rather, he attempted to attack Suna who Miyuki was sure would be able to dodge if his sand didn’t block the attack.

”Go on, move it!”, Miyuki would call out to the crowd who, between the tone of her voice and what they were seeing, caused them to actually listen. The crowd backed up, most leaving while some seemed to get a ‘comfortable’ distance away so that they could keep watch. Miyuki simply shook her head and levitated herself higher into the air; watching for now. She knew Suna could defend himself so there was little point in her getting in the way for now. However, she wasn’t going to leave him in the middle of a fight. No, she figured she’d stick around in case she was needed – even if she doubted that would be the case.

The stranger certainly had a lot of courage to be so willing to attack someone he had been hearing rumors about, someone whom had been rumored to have killed several people – including one really tough opponent. Was this stranger that brave? Or was he just that strong that he felt he stood a chance against Suna? Miyuki was going to stick around to find out…

"I'm in no condition to be getting into a meaningless street fight with yo---"

Umbrella head was fast. Not as fast as he was, but fast. He didn't pull out that sword, so it looked like he was going to start out physically trying to hit him. Without taking any actions himself, the cork to the gourd was out, and the sand was spilling fourth. Before the foot would be able to make contact, a wall of sand was raised to block it.

Absoulte Defense:

So, while he'd be recoiling from kicking a wall of sand, Suna would send an attack of his own in the form of a roundhouse kick towards the guy's chest, seeing as he was taller than Suna was. It wasn't anything serious, just a way of creating space. All the while his sand would be slithering and moving around him in preparation for other attacks.

"Y'know, if I wasn't so tired i'd be happy to dance around with you, so seeing as I got nothing against you, why don't we call it quits for now and go again when i'm rested up?"

Of course, Suna - even without psychic powers - knew that he wasn't going to settle that easily...

Sand?

So that's what was in the gourd. It looked like the sand had a mind of it's own. Sand rose up to form a wall and block his kick. Jubei found himself kicked in the chest soon after, making him slide backwards. It didn't hurt; it was more of a "keep away" than anything else. A sand defense... With how quickly it rose to his defense, and how quickly he was kicked in the chest, Jubei could see that the kid was faster than him.

The kid didn't want to fight just then, saying that he was tired, and that he'd be willing to fight once he'd rested. But once his blood started boiling he wouldn't be satisfied until one of them was on the ground. Jubei dusted off his chest where he was kicked. "...Seems to me that you still have strength to spare," said Jubei, going into a crouch. "So why don't we kick things up a notch."

Jubei suddenly became slightly more muscular. Activating his "Feral Mode," he suddenly became faster, stronger and tougher. He would only be able to keep this up for a short amount of time

Feral Mode:

Jubei charged forward again, this time much faster; so fast that the shingles were ripped off of the roof they were standing on. Jubei jumped and performed a flip that came with 3 kicks: 2 aimed at the shoulders and one towards the forehead. How much damage they would do depended on if Jubei caught him off guard, or if he was able to adjust in that short amount of time.

Acrobatic triple Dropkick:

Just as Miyuki thought the attack was blocked and then Suna launched one of his own. Suna’s attack didn’t seem to do damage, but rather seemed to be meant to keep the stranger away. Suna commented that if he wasn’t feeling so tired he’d have no problem going a round with this stranger. He added that they should call it quits, and resume when he had had a chance to rest up a bit.

The stranger seemed to not agree with this plan, and even mentioned kicking it up a notch. From that point something seemed to happen to the stranger: the guy made himself look stronger. Miyuki raised an eyebrow at this. It didn’t feel like Sage chakra like what she had used against the bird man, but whatever it was seemed to have enhanced him. Either way she kept a careful watch, wondering if he would pull any other tricks out of his sleeves in his fight against Suna.

Another attack was launched Suna’s way and Miyuki couldn’t help but wonder if his sand would be fast enough to block this attack as well: or what Suna would do next for that matter. Miyuki folded her arms across her chest as she hovered there, half expecting this stranger to attempt to attack her next, or catch her off guard…

The guy did something strange after he said Suna had strength to spare, and that they should take it up a notch. From the looks of things, he seemed to grow a little.

Then he moved. He moved so fast that his Reflex Time Sight instantly kicked in. Shingles from the rooftop kicked up in his wake. None of Suna's defenses were fast enough. His absolute defense wouldn't raise in time, and he'd even made it through his "Area." Suna found himself kicked twice in the shoulders then once on the forehead. Since he'd approached so face, it was pretty painful.

His sand shield had been penetrated. As he began to fly backwards, Suna tried to figure out how he got so fast. That wasn't a sage mode he was using. What the hell was this guy? He wasn't a bandit, nor was he like one of those freaks from the other night. This guy had been trained... and at the moment he was looking bad before Miyuki.

Well then, it was looking like another tiring, painful day. Suna stopped in mid-air suddenly, frowning, and underwent his own change. The air around his body seemed to heat up as he too grew somewhat, activating his sage mode. His arms and upper body suddenly became much larger.

Suna dropped to his feet, then dashed toward umbrella head, much faster than he'd dashed before. His dash tore a hole in the roof. Suna would approach the stranger and begin a barrage of kicks. They were delivered so swiftly that it looked like Suna had multiple legs. An unprepared individual on the receiving end of these kicks would suffer broken bones where ever they landed. How this guy would handle it was left yet to be seen.

Mahjong Cannon:

Word Count: 5,217 + 375 = 5,592

The kicks connected, but then something strange happened. The kid stopped in mid-air somehow, then seemed to undergo a transformation of his own. he landed and was in motion, a motion so violent that a hole was torn into the roof. Jubei caught a kick to the face that knocked off his straw hat. Many other kicks came that he blocked, but some made it through. If he weren't in feral mode, he was sure that his bones would be shattered like glass.

After so many of the stinging kicks, Jubei had to create some space before some of his bones really were broken. He suddenly went low and executed his "Litterbox Kick," which caused many shingles and some of the roof to be uprooted and go flying towards the kid. This would likely give him time to slide backwards on all fours and prepare for whatever was next.

Litterbox Kick:

His head was revealed, showing his cat-like ears and face that was half masked with a scarf. His tail came loose from his waist and was moving about behind him like a snake, as his animal instincts were in full control. He hadn't been like this in a long time, and even with the stinging sensation from those kicks he was enjoying himself.

Things were really starting to heat up and Miyuki was beginning to worry that perhaps those who were standing around in the street watching were a bit too close. With roof tiles beginning to rain down and powers being expanded upon it definitely seemed like it was time to get everyone out of the way. So, without wasting another second, she lowered herself down to the ground. ”Come on folks, shows over. Let’s get y’all out of here...” A few people actually left without issue, clearly realizing the situation was getting a bit dangerous, others however continued to refuse which caused Miyuki to frown.

She didn’t really feel like trying to get into an argument with anyone and so she laced her voice with chakra and used one of her Genjutsu techniques: Miwaku. ”Go home. Get out of this area. I don’t care what you do but go away.” Simple instructions, and thanks to those around only being civilians she didn’t have to use a lot of chakra to make the Genjutsu work. Sure enough everyone listened, and quickly but effectively made their way out of the area.

Miyuki, pleased with the outcome, levitated herself into the air once more so that she could keep a better eye on the fight at hand. Suna was in Sage mode, she could feel it, but she still had no idea how the other guy was making himself so strong or how long that strength would possibly last.

Suna landed many of the kicks, but he didn't feel bones breaking like he'd felt on the last person he'd used this move on. This guy was definitely something else. He next executed a kick that sent a lot of the roof flying towards him.

Suna jumped upwards while his sleeves came up, revealing his arms and hands that had bulged because of Sage Mode. This was really going to kick his ass later but he had to finish this now. While he wouldn't risk using his ultimate move again, a lesser version would have to do.

So while leaping upwards he brought his arms to his right side, looking down at this weird guy with cat ears and a cat tail, focusing his chakra to the point between his palms that were cupped together. What looked like a large blue ball began to form.

" SHINKUU----"

The kid jumped upwards, avoiding the aftermath of his Litterbox Kick. He stood up straight again, excited, wondering what was coming next. When he took a familiar stance while airborne, and the chakra began to gather, the half crazed look turned into one of curiosity and surprise.

That looked like Holeman's Ha Do Ken. How did this kid know how to do that? Had he taught other people besides him? Furthermore, it looked like the "super" version of it. Was this a friend of Holeman?

Jubei, even in his animal form, decided to match him. He too brought his arms to his right side and began to focus his chakra just as Holeman taught him. The same as the kid, a large blue orb would gather and form....

… Time to move. The last time Miyuki had saw Suna use a move like that it had created a big explosion. Miyuki had no intentions of being caught up in something like that, or being nearby when it went off. She pitied the guy it was about to be used again, and found herself wondering if he’d even survive it. Miyuki levitated herself back a good fifteen yards, giving herself some more space away from the fight while also making sure she could still watch and see what was going on: she didn’t want to miss this if the guy happened to survive what Suna was about to do.

However, as Miyuki, now comfortably away from the fight, focused on the stranger she saw him mimicking Suna’s movements and creating the same blue ball that Suna himself could do. But how? If she remembered correctly that move was taught to Suna by someone else, so how was it possible that this stranger knew it too? Could they both have a common friend?

Either way Miyuki was definitely curious on how this was going to play out: the same move used against each other… what would the outcome of that be? Would they cancel each other out? Or perhaps create an even larger explosion? She was curious to find out, even as she bit her lip in worry over Suna’s safety – she would hate to see her best friend end up injured over something like this. Still, she didn’t say anything as she didn’t want to risk distracting Suna in the process.

Suna almost lost concentration.... was he seeing this right? It looked like he was charging the same move! This was Holeman's trademark technique, how did this guy know it too? Was the "far away land" he spoke of back home? Had he visited Sabakugakure?

Suna couldn't think about that now. He didn't want to risk looking bad in front of Miyuki by taking a loss to this guy, even though he was dead tired and pushing himself to the limit, again. Oh well... if anything, Boss Uno would give him even more cool points.

Suna threw his arms downward and fired his attack. There was a loud sound as if a jet were taking off from an airport. The large projectile sped downwards toward the cat man.

"HA DO KEN!!"

Shinkuu Ha Do Ken:

That confirmed things... This kid had to have met Holeman. Because he was able to fire off something that big to be so small... he was talented. To top that off, the kid had previously said he was tired too? Jubei could only imagine how fearsome this attack would be if he weren't.

Now wasn't the time to be admiring him. If Jubei didn't do something things could turn out bad. It wasn't his intention to get into a serious battle; he only wanted to see what the kid could do. He was more than satisfied now.

Jubei also threw his arms forward and fired his own attack, although he didn't yell out the name of the attack like the kid did. He fired in an upward arc towards the incoming attack so that they would collide. What would happen when they did was anyone's guess...

Shinkuu Ha Do Ken:

Chakra: 770 / 800
7,405 + 362 = 7,767

Things were definitely getting weirder. Miyuki was definitely seeing the same move that both of them were using; though the stranger seemed to aim his towards the on-coming attack instead of directly at Suna himself. The two moves were fired off and on a path of collision making Miyuki glad she had taken the time to get some distance between herself and the fight. She had no idea what was going to happen when the two attacks collided, but she had seen what the move could do on its own so she imagined it was going to be big and very explosive.

Still though, seeing this all, and knowing just how tired Suna was, Miyuki couldn’t help but feel impressed with him: he was still capable of so much even when he should have been back in the suite resting. It also made Miyuki wonder exactly why Suna wasn’t there resting: instead of out and about being chased after by hordes of females or getting into a battle with a cat-like man.

At that moment Miyuki realized the tea in her hands she had been neglecting and simply shifted it around due to her hand becoming increasingly cold, hearing the ice move around and bump into each other as she did so: she was more focused on the fight than worried about drinking the delicious liquid within the cup, but a numb hand was never pleasant.

Two large explosive attacks sped towards each other. This wasn't going to be good for the surroundings. Suna would have to apologize to Boss Uno later on, because he already had a pretty good idea what was about to happen.

The Ha Do Kens rammed into each other. If the cat man's was the same as Suna's, there would be a "pushing match" of sorts, shortly before a tremendous explosion. A shockwave would be released that would spread the area of about 6 city blocks, shattering windows and sweeping certain people and light objects off into the distance. Suna was swept off too, but managed to right himself in the air to land on his feet upon another rooftop, sliding backwards a distance.

The same drained feeling was on him again from last night. Sage Mode de-activated, causing his arms and upper body to shrink back to their normal size. Suna couldn't catch his breath for some reason. His legs began to quiver and shake as it became hard to stand. "Well..... here we go...again...." he mumbled as the power in his legs just left him. Suna rolled down the roof and fell off of the building he was standing on.

There was a boom. It made Jubei shield his head and he ducked down. The sounds of many broken windows and other things being thrown around were loud in his ears. it had been a good battle, the best he'd seen so far, against an opponent who didn't fall immediately like most did. It motivated Jubei to train and get stronger. If this kid could do such things while tired and worn out, there was no telling what he could do while in a fresh condition...

The kid landed, and began to look like he was at his limit. Jubei couldn't help but grin. Yet this grin melted off his face when the kid rolled down the roof he was on and fell off of the building.

"NO--!!" Jubei yelled, dashing forward again. He'd only meant to spar with him, not be the cause of him becoming seriously injured, or worse. Jubei wouldn't be able to live with himself if something bad happened to that kid because of him. After running across the roof Jubei dove off, speeding down towards the kid like a bullet. After grabbing him he flipped, sailing across the roadway below, impacting the wall of a house and using his claws to slide down safely to the ground.

Jubei set the kid down. He disengaged Feral Mode, allowing his body to revert back to normal. He started to breathe hard, feeling tired. "Are you... are you alright?... It-it wasn't my intention to... cause you serious harm... I only wanted... a spar...."
